Hilary Swank, 52, Reveals She’s Pregnant With Third Child
Hilary Swank is expanding her family.
The 52-year-old actress announced that she is pregnant with her third child with husband Philip Schneider. The new baby will join the couple’s twins, Aya and Ohm, whom they welcomed in April 2023.
Swank revealed the happy news in a creative Instagram video featuring her family dancing in the dark with glow sticks attached to their bodies. Swank then showed off her growing baby bump, which featured a tiny glow-stick figure representing the baby.
She also appeared to reveal that the baby is expected in December.
“A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December,” Swank joked in the caption.
Becoming a Mom Later in Life
Swank has previously spoken openly about becoming a mother later in life. She was 48 when she welcomed her twins in 2023 and has said the timing ultimately worked out well for her.
The actress told PEOPLE that she always wanted children, but other parts of her life and career took priority when she was younger.
Swank said having children later has allowed her to be more present with them. With an established acting career, she now has more freedom to decide when she wants to work and when she wants to focus on her family.
She also believes age and life experience have given her more patience as a parent.
“I’ve done a lot of work on myself,” she told PEOPLE, explaining that she believes working through personal issues can help parents avoid passing unhealthy patterns on to their children.
Swank has also said her twins have taught her an important lesson about slowing down and enjoying the present.
