The woman behind the fundraiser that has am\u1d00ssed $1.2 million for Lindsay Clancy\u2019s  parents<\/a> is a 42-year-old separated Wisconsin TikTok mom-of-three whose efforts could ultimately enrich the killer mom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brandee Mulligan \u2014 who has no affiliation with 36-year-old Clancy, her ex-husband, Patrick, or her parents, Michael and Paula Musgrove \u2014\u00a0set up a GoFundMe page\u00a0last month without speaking to them

They had no idea and they were just extremely grateful and overwhelmed by all the support,\u201d Mulligan told The Post.

\u201cAnd as a mom, like your heart just goes out to Lindsay,\u201d she said of why she started \u201cThe Musgrove Family Fund.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd I don\u2019t want to focus too much on the Lindsay aspect of it. But I mean, it\u2019s a huge part of it,\u201d she added, before talking about Clancy\u2019s mom and dad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHer parents have uprooted their whole life for three and a half years. They\u2019ve given everything to this.\u201d
Mulligan has since spoken with Clancy\u2019s father and made him the fund\u2019s sole beneficiary, the influencer mom told The Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But M\u1d00ssachusetts has no law barring accused criminals from accepting donations to fight the charges against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s one of 23 states without what\u2019s known as a\u00a0Son of Sam law\u00a0\u2014 enacted in New York after filmmakers rushed to offer the notorious Gotham serial killer money for his life story and media rights \u2014 soClancy\u2019s father could hand the money to his daughter or use it to pay for her defense

A mistrial was declared in the trial of Lindsay Clancy in Plymouth on Sept. 4.via REUTERS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clancy\u2019s attorney, Kevin Reddington, previously said \u201cevery nickel\u201d spent on Clancy\u2019s defense had come from the Musgroves, who were \u201cpretty much depleting everything they have\u201d to fund it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fund is the only GoFundMe page publicly confirmed by the platform as being connected to the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mulligan regularly posts on social media in support of Clancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is truly a jury of her peers,\u201d she gushed on TikTok after a mistrial was declared Sept. 4, before going on to lash out against the lone holdout juror. \u201cAnd then one total idiot \u2026 one f\u2013king man.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But several posts she shared bashed \u2014 and appeared to cast suspicion on \u2014 Patrick Clancy\u2019s involvement in the murder of his three children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one TikTok she shared, a former prosecutor questioned why Patrick Clancy appeared to be wearing different clothing in surveillance footage from two locations during his alibi and why investigators apparently did not obtain his phone records to corroborate his movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Clancy\u2019s attorney slammed the \u201cescalating campaign of misinformation\u201d being waged by influencers earlier this week \u2014 threatening \u201cevery appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable.\u201dBrandee Mulligan created a GoFundMe page for Lindsay Clancy\u2019s parents.GoFundMe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reached by phone, Mulligan didn\u2019t walk back her criticism of the ex-husband, instead telling The Post: \u201cI don\u2019t have any comment on that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said the fund \u2014 which has collected donations from more than 1,000 people so far, mostly women \u2014 is to cover travel expenses for Michael, 70, and Paula Musgrove, 73, from their home near New Haven, Conn., to Plymouth, M\u1d00ss., where their daughter stood trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the mistrial was declared, Mulligan raised the goal from the initial $2 million to $3 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve been in H\u0e4f\u03c4els, they\u2019ve depleted their savings, and they\u2019re the ones that footed the bill for her legal things,\u201d she said of Clancy\u2019s parents. \u201cThey\u2019ve been the ones supporting Lindsay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GoFundMe doesn\u2019t allow campaigns to pay for criminal defenses against charges for violent crimes, but the site has ignored repeated questions from The Post about what, if any, safeguards it has in place to ensure the money isn\u2019t used to pay for Clancy\u2019s legal defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEverybody\u2019s very clear on what it can and can\u2019t be used for. And the families, they know that,\u201d claimed Mulligan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeing a mom is hard, and it\u2019s resonated with a lot of people all over the world. So many women. It\u2019s incredible,\u201d she said of the fundraiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey tell moms to reach out and get help and then when you don\u2019t get that, then what? And I hope that this case helps change that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mulligan herself has face criticism online, and regularly shares comments from her haters, including one where someone said she was \u201cpsycH\u0e4f\u03c4ic\u201d if she supported Clancy killing her children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
