A disturbing case involving a four-month-old baby has left people asking how something so painful could happen to such a helpless child.

According to the information provided, the infant was found with six broken ribs in different stages of healing, along with a broken leg and bruising on her face and torso.

The case reportedly came to light on September 2, when a doctor examined the baby and determined that her injuries did not appear consistent with an accident.

Authorities were contacted, and the infant was transferred to another hospital where she received treatment.

The baby’s injuries reportedly raised serious concerns because some of the broken bones appeared to have occurred at different times.

The baby’s father, Noah Humphus, reportedly described himself as a retired game designer and stay-at-home dad.

According to police documents cited in the supplied account, investigators say Humphus admitted to repeatedly handling his daughter roughly.

His alleged explanation was especially disturbing.

He reportedly told police that he believed the baby needed to “toughen up” and that being rough with children was acceptable.

Investigators reportedly say he admitted hurting the infant between 10 and 20 times.

Police reportedly asked Humphus to demonstrate how he had handled his daughter.

According to the account, he used a baby doll to show investigators the movements. He allegedly demonstrated holding the baby by her legs and swinging her around.

Investigators reportedly believe this behavior may have contributed to the baby’s broken leg.

The baby’s mother, Wilo Zwolinski, reportedly told investigators that she knew Noah was shaking the baby at least twice a day when he became frustrated by her crying.

The allegations have raised difficult questions about what happened inside the home and whether more could have been done to protect the infant.

Despite the seriousness of her injuries, the baby was reportedly discharged from the hospital and is now safe.

She was only four months old when the alleged abuse was discovered.

A child that young depends completely on adults for protection, care and comfort. She cannot explain what happened to her or defend herself.

Humphus is reportedly being held without bond, with another court appearance scheduled for October.

The allegations have not been proven in court, and the case will continue through the legal process.

But one message is clear: babies don’t need to be “toughened up.” They need to be protected, cared for and loved. 💔

A disturbing case involving a four-month-old baby has left people asking how something so painful could happen to such a helpless child.
