US actress Selma Blair has been issued with a summons accusing her of assault after she allegedly attacked attendants on a plane, officials say.<\/p>\n
The Legally Blonde star was investigated by the FBI following an alleged altercation on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York.<\/p>\n
Airport officials said they had responded to a call on Sunday about “a physically abusive passenger” on the flight. Two flight attendants were hurt and one was taken to hospital, the New York Port Authority said.<\/p>\n
Blair, 54, who also starred in Hellboy and Cruel Intentions, was arrested and taken to hospital. Her publicist told the BBC she had “experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct”.<\/p>\n
“Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” her publicist said.<\/p>\n
According to the BBC’s US media partner, CBS News, Blair was transported to hospital in an ambulance, where she allegedly kicked a police officer. Once at hospital, prosecutors have alleged that she also assaulted a nurse.<\/p>\n
The actress was released from hospital and taken to Queens Central Booking, where she has pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault, in relation to the alleged incidents in the ambulance and hospital.<\/p>\n
CBS reported that a judge has set her bail at $20,000 cash or $60,000 bond, with the next hearing scheduled for 19 January.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
