Yaya Mayweather Ordered to Pay More Than $50 Million Over 2020 Stabbing Case
Floyd Mayweather’s daughter, Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, has been ordered to pay more than $50 million to Lapattra Jacobs over a 2020 stabbing that happened during a dispute connected to rapper NBA YoungBoy.
A Harris County, Texas, judge signed the final judgment in May 2026, awarding Jacobs $50.105 million in total damages.
A Case That Began in 2020
The incident happened at NBA YoungBoy’s home in Houston in December 2020.
Mayweather was later charged in connection with the stabbing of Jacobs. In 2022, she pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and received six years of probation through deferred adjudication.
The criminal case, however, was not the end of the story.
Jacobs also pursued a civil lawsuit seeking compensation for the injuries she suffered.
The $50 Million Judgment
According to the latest judgment, the court awarded Jacobs approximately $40.1 million in compensatory damages.
That amount included past medical expenses as well as damages related to pain and mental anguish, physical impairment, lost earning capacity and disfigurement.
The judgment also included another $10 million in exemplary damages.
The court found Mayweather fully responsible for the assault and determined that Jacobs acted in self-defense.
Why the Award Was So Large
The judge found that the conduct involved an intentional assault with a deadly weapon.
The exemplary damages were intended as an additional punishment and deterrent because of the seriousness of the conduct.
Reports say Mayweather did not appear at the civil trial, and the court assigned 100% of the responsibility to her and 0% to Jacobs.
What Happens Now?
The huge civil judgment now exists alongside Mayweather’s criminal probation.
The next stage is expected to involve efforts to collect the judgment, although a court award does not automatically mean the entire amount will be paid immediately.
The case has once again brought attention to the violent 2020 confrontation and its long-lasting consequences for everyone involved.
For Jacobs, the judgment represents compensation for injuries that the court found caused significant physical and emotional harm.
More than six years after the original incident, the case has now resulted in one of the biggest financial judgments connected to the confrontation.
